The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Palm Coast 60 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32164

The role you’ll contribute:

The Infection Preventionist is a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelines

and definitions of nosocomial infections, TJC standards, Federal and State regulations.

The infection preventionist is responsible for the investigation, identification, reporting,

prevention and control of nosocomial infections among patients and personnel.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

·       Develops, implements and annually evaluates the hospital’s infection control program to prevent and control the transmission of infections in the patient, employee, visitor and medical staff populations.

·       Develops a surveillance plan based on the population(s) served, services provided and historical surveillance data

·       Considers the financial implications, safety implications, and clinical outcomes when making recommendations, evaluating technology and products, and developing policies and procedures

·       Completes all mandatory educational requirements

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

·       Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing OR Master’s in Public Health or another healthcare related field

·       Current Florida Registered Nurse License, if applicable

·       Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices and infectious disease processes, evidence-based best practices and external/public clinical outcomes reporting requirements

Preferred qualifications: 

·       BSN degree

·       Facilitation of various PI methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, PDSA, etc.)

·       Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC®)
