Do you lead with your heart? PCHC is seeking an experienced physician to serve as Medical Director at two vibrant outpatient primary care clinics, Helen Hunt Health Center in Old Town, Maine, and the Adult Wellness Center in Bangor, Maine.
The Medical Director will have at least eight (8) years of experience in practice and/or clinical leadership roles. As a licensed clinician the Medical Director will also provide direct patient services in addition to their duties in administration. The Medical Director role is planned for a full-time 40 hour per week. Ideally, the Medical Director will split administrative and clinical time 50/50.
The Medical Director will serve as the lead provider in charge of all aspects of medical patient care services provided by the clinics.
Working from a solutions-based approach, the Medical Director monitors clinical performance to ensure medical services and operations are in compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing agencies.
As a member of the Clinical Leadership team, the Medical Director is responsible for facilitating and enhancing the channels of communication between administration and the practice as well as championing the priorities and goals of the practice and of PCHC. Additionally, the position directly supervises providers and utilizes coaching and mentoring methods to create an environment that is anticipatory, supportive, and encourages constructive feedback on performance, guidance and support in best practices and all aspects of professionalism.

Helen Hunt Health Center is housed in a beautifully renovated, spacious 3-story 1903 brick schoolhouse rich with local history. A well-loved landmark that has been lovingly restored, the Helen Hunt building serves as a focal point for community health services just as it did for education over 100 years ago when it was a school serving local 4th and 5th grade students!
Old Town is a unique island community made up of several islands in the Penobscot and Stillwater Rivers conveniently accessed by several bridges.
