As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care and education to patients/participants. This includes assessing nutritional needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating outcomes. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care and maintain professional competency through ongoing development.

Responsibilities
Assesses patient/participant needs, including medical history, laboratory data, and nutritional requirements. Develops individualized care plans using a collaborative approach with the patient/family/participant and healthcare team.
Implements interventions and provides education to patients/participants, families, and staff on topics such as diet, food safety, disease management, and medication adherence.
Documents pertinent information in medical records and care plans. Attends interdisciplinary team meetings and communicates effectively with healthcare providers and contracted services.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA and compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs. Adheres to ethical principles and organizational policies and procedures.
Maintains current licenses and certifications, completes required annual education and competency training, and stays abreast of current healthcare practices and standards.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics/Food and Nutrition from an accredited program that meets the requirements of the American Dietetic Association (or Commission on Dietetic Registration) for the registration examination.
Successful completion of an internship or coordinated undergraduate program that meets the American Dietetic Association (or Commission on Dietetic Registration) guidelines.
Registration and Licensure
Registered (or registration eligible) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration AND Licensed (or license eligible) with the State of Iowa.
Certifications
Current CPR/BCLS certification
Maintain current Adult Mandatory Reporter status
Maintain American National Standards Institute accredited food protection/safety certification (e.g., ServSafe Food Protection Manager/Certified Food Safety Manager) - (may be obtained within 90 days for new hires)
Skills
Effective oral and written communication skills.
