Job Summary:
Responsible for coordinating the approval processes and conduct of research protocols, such that the integrity and quality of the clinical/translational research is maintained and the research is conducted in accordance within all policies, with some guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*
Assists in creating and submitting regulatory documentation to the IRB, TDOH, and WCG
Communicates with internal and external regulatory boards in a professional manner
With guidance, assesses and evaluates patient eligibility for approved study to ensure appropriate participants are enrolled.
Knowledgeable of all active protocols in order to determine if a patient meets specific criteria for eligibility or exclusion from a given study.
May review medical history to determine eligibility status
May consent patients in clinic and assist with study visits
Ensures patient consent forms are completed, and appropriate documentation is processed.
Inputs all pertinent patient data into database accurately
Reports all adverse events and protocol deviations according to VU and protocol guidelines
Assists as needed in kits preparation for specimen collection.
Handles and processes biospecimen samples as necessary.
Conducts follow-up of study patients as needed
Assists with research participant compensation and auditing
Assists in editing, and maintaining Center of Asthma Research website
Assists with development and annotation of case report forms
Processes participant data and runs necessary reports
Assists with data entry and data error corrections
Manages/schedules meetings and calendar items in an efficient and organized manner
Demonstrates initiative for continuous learning, both self-directed and by attendance of offered educational and developmental opportunities.
Actively seeks to learn and utilizes knowledge of asthma, allergies, and maternal child health and study processes.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
* Project Coordination (Fundamental Awareness): Has light experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience with Project Coordination. Has worked on at least one project in a support role. Collects and collates project related material such as project initiation documents, project status reports, project metrics, and project completion data.
* Study Design & Conduct (Fundamental Awareness): Applies qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform preparatory, regulatory, and analytic tasking within the life cycle of a study.
* Communication (Fundamental Awareness): Clearly, effectively and respectfully communicates to employees or customers.
* Clinical Research (Fundamental Awareness): Knows the primary resources available to accomplish the job. Can successfully research simple clinical questions pertaining to the functional area. Files and collates trial documentation and reports. Archives study documentation and correspondence. Demonstrates a systematic approach to problem solving.
