Clinical Nurse II - Duke Women's Health-Raleigh

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse II in our Duke Women's Health Associates Center located in Raleigh, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
Job Duties:
- Perform procedures under the supervision of medical providers
- Perform telephone and electronic medical record triage; provide medical advice and refill requests, schedule appointments, review lab results and treat patients per protocols under the supervision of medical providers
- Complete insurance and FMLA forms, requests for prior authorizations, abstract patient charts and maintain required clinic supplies
- Assist the physician during the examination and procedures
- Collect/prepare laboratory and blood specimens; perform Point of Care laboratory tests
- Maintain medical instruments to support patient safety and the environment of care
- Review medical and surgical instructions with patients and/or caregivers, and document in patient record
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
- Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers. Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of patient care and serve as a team leader
- Participate in your own professional development by maintaining required competencies, and seeking educational offerings
- Support the development of other staff and formal learners. Participate in the identification of clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
- Work requires graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date.
- Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
Job Schedule:
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday with no weekends or Duke scheduled holidays
