About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization
Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.
Occupational Summ ary
Coordinate and participate in a variet y of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, patient id entification, patient check in/out, cash management and patient appointm entscheduling. Position also involves customer service, message distribu tion and referrals management.
Work Performed
Pre pare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients and completing nex tday preparation activities.
Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice.
Identify correct patient information in Maestro Care. Verify/update pat ient demographic and insurance data as needed. Edit Maestro Care as nee ded.
Accurately identify the appropria te account for patient visit.
Present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature including di stribution ofPROMIS ipads as required by policy and procedure. < span>
Completes all Maestro Care required on-linequ estionnaires and manage all appropriate alerts.
Obtain imprest cash bag from cash manager at beginning of shi ft. Secure cash and patient payment information appropriately at alltim es during clinic hours.
Return impre st cash bag at end of shift to cash manager.
Collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due.
Label all patient specific chart document s and requisition/transmittal documents for scanning.
Explain billing to patients according to PRMO creditand collection policies.
Determine the a mount of cash to be collected based on insurance plan.
Check-out appointments.
Make return appointments by scheduling patients into the correct appo intment type, entering accurate primary care physician or referring phys ician information in Maestro Care.
Rev iew and attach referrals to scheduled appointments as appropriate.
Answer telephone, take and deliver messages to providers.
Report obtainedmedical information from patients and referring physicians accurately, complete ly and timely. Disseminate messages according to practice communication standards.
Review and resolve registra tion and referral workqueue edits daily.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities strong>
Strong verbal and written communicati on.
Basic PC and data entryskills. span>
Knowledge of medical terminology and te lephone etiquette.
Demonstrates abilit y to organize and prioritize work, provide oral and written instructions , interact tactfully with customers and establish and maintaineffective relationships with others.
Must be ab le to apply specific departmental policies rules and regulations relatin g to verifying patient information, collecting payments and maintaining records and forms.
