The Application Analyst I is responsible for advancing the functionality and operational efficiency of the use of assigned applications. This entails advising and assisting customers in the operation and administration of their systems; collaborating with customers to enhance their work methodologies and tools; and maintaining a customer?centric technical knowledge and focus when contributing to the analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation activities of assigned software. The Applications Analyst I must process sufficient detailed expertise to support at least one assigned application, and is responsible for delivering high quality, cost effective solutions to all levels of users. This includes support for both the technology and the processes. The Applications Analyst I is responsible for supporting the business goals and objectives for the Department, the Information Services Organization, and the organization as a whole.
Responsibilities:
Identify issues and concerns, and communicates them to supervisor
Develop options and recommendations
Assist customers with their use of vendor-supplied PC query tools to develop and deploy moderately complex reports
Also, assist in the testing of the assigned application
Translate customer requests into program specifications appropriate to assigned tasks
Understand and appreciate customers? clinical and business functions
Assist in preparation and conducting of continuing formal or informal training session for users and co-workers
Maintain increasing technical knowledge of the assigned application
Provide general technical knowledge in the support of programming languages in various system environments
Perform the analysis, design, and development and implementation of computer systems with guidance from Lead Analyst
Demonstrate and apply information systems theory, processes and methodologies
Assist in testing assigned applications
Assist customers with optimizing the use of assigned application and specific project-driven tasks
Demonstrate strong communication and human relationship skills
Contact vendors regarding service issues to receive support information or assistance as instructed by supervisor
Produce required department reporting associated with projects and problems assigned
With supervision, define boundaries, set priorities, plan and manage multiple projects
With guidance, develop detailed project schedules for all assigned projects, mapping dates and resources to tasks
Monitor progress and resolve approved deviations from plan
Maintain and demonstrate good teamwork on assigned projects through actions and job performance
Provide effective customer service by being courteous, polite and friendly at all times
Acknowledge customers timely in order to determine their need and help the customer resolve the issue or request
Participate in departmental programs that promote and deliver exceptional customer service
Perform other duties and special projects as requested
