Duke University Health System - Patient Revenue Management Office (PRMO) seeks to hire a Service Access Team Leaderwho will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.
General Description of the Job Class
The Service Access Team Lead position will require the overall monitoring and support for all operational needs including staffing, performance, quality reviews, monitor internal controls, training, coaching and technical support in the application of multifaceted rules in the work environment. Interact with Service Access Manager, Providers and HCA to determine needs and policies for the department. Analyze, organize and utilize outcome for compliance with DUHS values, policies and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities of this position:
Plan and schedule work for the PRMO staff ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
Train new personnel.
Assist SAM with overseeing work flow, efficiency, and accuracy of front-end staff at each location.Includes reviewing registration reports such as copay collections, registration quality, and appointment user productivity.
Provide recommendations on various personnel actions including, but not limited to hiring, performance reviews, vacation schedules, and maintaining payroll records and time reports.
Check-in patient upon arrival including correctly identifying patient information in Maestro Care, updating demographics and insurance information
Present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure, and collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due.
Answer telephone, take and deliver messages to providers, nurses and others.
Report obtained medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and timely. Disseminate messages according to practice communication standards
Accurately schedule appointments for PASS and POET programs using the surgical cases report, referral work queues, in-basket pool, and telephone requests.
Perform other related duties
Obtain and scan patient outside medical records and anesthesia ces incidental to the work described herein.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma required.
Experience
Four years of experience in a healthcare setting is required. An Associate's degree in healthcare or business may substitute for two years of experience. A Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare may substitute for four years of experience.
