The role you’ll contribute:
The Tissue Recovery Technician (TRT) assists in the recovery, documentation, packaging, and transportation of donated tissue from cadavers for the purpose of transplantation.Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Assisting the TransLife Recovery staff in the recovery of all tissues such as bone, tendons, dura, skin, veins, pericardium, heart valves and any other tissues that can be utilized for transplantation in accordance with policy and procedures of the Tissue Recovery Services and the Standards of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB)
Assists the coordinator in transporting equipment and supplies, inventory of recovery supplies and ensuring the recovery site meets AATB Standards.
Performs Tissue recovery, preservation and bioburden testing procedures as detailed in the policies and procedures of the department.
Keeps current on existing policies and procedures of the Tissue Bank related to recovery of tissue
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Certified Surgical Technician OR
One year Hospital/Clinical Experience
