As a Histotechnologist 1, your key duties will include:
• Process, embed, cut, and image a variety of tissues specimens for electron microscopy.
• Prepare thick and thin sections as needed, including staining and special processing, preparing knives, reviewing and scanning grids, preparing digital photography.
• Maintain quality control logs and other documentation to ensure the highest standards of laboratory practice.
• Collaborate with faculty, residents, and grossing personnel to address concerns or questions related to test orders.
• Uphold a clean, well-organized, and safe laboratory environment to promote efficiency and safety.
• Track laboratory supplies, maintain work logs, and place orders.
Salary Range: $52.83/hour - $63.14/hour
• Histotechnician HT, Histotechnologist HTL, or Certified Electron Microscopy Technologist (CEMT) certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ clinical Electron Microscopy experience.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g. HiSET or GED).
• Must have flexibility to work overtime and holidays as needed.
