The College of DuPage invites applications and nominations for the Dean, Nursing and Health Sciences. The Dean provides executive leadership, advocacy, vision and supervision, strategic and integrated planning, and oversight for all dimensions of Nursing and Health Sciences programs, contributing to the high-quality educational experience for the College’s diverse community members.
College of DuPage (COD) is a comprehensive community college with far-reaching impact. Located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, just 25 miles outside of Chicago, the campus covers 273 acres. The College is firmly rooted in the community yet committed to reflecting the needs and demands of an ever-changing world. College of DuPage offers seven degrees in more than 150 areas of study, and each degree program emphasizes relevant coursework and results-focused teaching by dedicated faculty. With more than 26,000 students served annually, COD is the largest community college in the state.
The Dean is responsible for the Division's efficient and effective use of facilities and human and fiscal resources for the development and improvement of instructional programs. Through continuous improvement efforts and assessment activities, the Dean leads the strategic long-term planning for the Division. Strong interpersonal and group communication skills are necessary to foster a culture of support and operational excellence among full-time and adjunct faculty, department chairs, a staff across multiple health disciplines. The Dean manages a large Divisional budget, as well as federal and state grants. The Dean creates opportunities for growth, innovation and collaboration by establishing internal and external partnerships. A master’s degree in a health science discipline, demonstrated success in higher education administration, professional activities and applied experience in a health science field, and teaching experience are all expected in the ideal candidate.
This is a full-time position that will be performed on site. The anticipated salary range for this role is $131,800-149,457. A complete position profile is forthcoming. The anticipated deadline for application submission is February 28, 2025.
