Position Title: Dentist

Reports to: Dental Director

Department: Dental

Status: Exempt

Salary: $700 - $800 Per Day

Schedule: Part-Time: 1 day a week/Mondays

Location: Waverly, Virginia

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Performs dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
• Provides comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
• Provides routine and emergency dental services including general restorative procedures, crown and bridge construction, removable prosthetics, uncomplicated endodontics, and minor oral surgery.
• Initiates and interprets x-ray and diagnostic tests.
• Administers and prescribes anesthetics and medications.
• Refers patients for specialty care, as appropriate.
• Educates patients on oral health, hygiene practices, and preventive dental care.
• Collaborates with Dental Hygienists and other dental professionals to ensure optimal care.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental/health systems.
• Collaborates with the Dental Director to maximize clinic productivity and scheduling procedures, and toward establishing guidelines for treatment and care.
• Participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities and initiatives. Utilizes reports from QA/QI/RM monitoring of quality measures to provide leadership for continuous quality improvement on the practice team.  

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited dental program with DDS or a DMD

Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Virginia

Current, valid, unrestricted DEA license & Basic Life Support (BLS)

Three years general dentistry experience preferred & FQHC experience preferred
