Responsible for scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, and/or tests.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
·Schedules all patients by phone or in person. Schedules appointments to maximum effectiveness for the facility and provider.
·Communicates with patient and family any pre and/or post-instructions. Escalates any questions/concerns as needed.
·Coordinates with Patient Financial Services to inform patients of financial responsibility, including prior authorization of procedures.
·Performs duties of a Patient Access Representative as needed. Assists and backs up support areas as needed/applicable.
·Establishes priorities and accomplishes tasks in a timely manner.
·Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
High School Diploma/GED Diploma.
·Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
·Medical Terminology knowledge.
Preferred:
·Prior medical office experience and/or completed externship with the applicable school program.
·Patient scheduling experience.

Must possess appropriate knowledge/skills to work in an environment where there is potential for contact with communicable diseases, odors, fumes, and other biohazards.Possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing; hearing adequate to respond appropriately to phone, equipment, alarms, etc.
GENERAL POSITION INFORMATION
The position is essential for the functioning of the St Joseph Medical Group.The workload is generated by the number of patients the provider encounters each day.Requires the ability to make decisions and judgments based on knowledge and experience.
