Assistant or Associate Professor in Public Health Position location: Kingston
The position is full-time, academic year, tenure-track, permanent.
The Department of Public Health at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Public Health with a focus on community-based participatory research to begin in Fall 2025. The University of Rhode Island Department of Public Health (https://web.uri.edu/public-health/) has a robust undergraduate program (over 300 undergraduate students) and will launch a new graduate program (Master of Public Health) in Fall 2025. Faculty are also able to work with Health Sciences doctoral students. The department is housed within the College of Health Sciences (https://web.uri.edu /chs), home to seven departments, 2,460 undergraduate students and 264 graduate students.

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach community-based health courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Publish public health research with an emphasis on community-based research. Seek and secure external funding that will support productive research. Coordinate community partnerships and oversee internship experiences for graduate students. Mentor and advise students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching, and service activities.
