At AMGA we are paving the way for medical groups and integrated systems of care to deliver the next level of high-performance health. We have an opening for an Annual Giving Officer reporting to the Executive Director, AMGA Foundation.
The Annual Giving Officer works closely with the Executive Director to create and implement all aspects of the annual giving program for individuals and medical group donors who contribute less than $5,000 annually. This includes managing all aspects of annual fund including Giving Tuesday, direct mail, email appeals, 10% invoice donations and social media.
The Annual Giving Officer will manage the development team’s stewardship functions including gift acknowledgements, the Impact Report and the Thanksgiving cards. This position is also responsible for donation tracking, gift processing, and database processes.
Primary Responsibilities ? Annual Giving Program: o Identifies, cultivates and solicits annual fund gifts from individuals and medical groups who contribute less than $5,000 annually. o Prepares solicitation strategies and coordinates with development department on “moves” strategy for annual fund donors and prospects. o Oversees the strategy development, design and implementation of all email appeal and/or direct mail solicitations to increase the number of individual and medical group donors and prospects. o Creates the strategy, design, and implementation of all digital solicitations to increase the annual fund donor base, including the strategy and implementation of Giving Tuesday efforts. o Manages a detailed schedule of direct marketing (email appeals, direct mail and social) activities and ensures the appropriate review of copy and distribution/mailing list selection. o Sends out reminders to AMGA medical group members during their renewal to include a 10% invoice gift
? Stewardship: o Lead implementation of stewardship strategy. o Process and distribute gift acknowledgement letters within 48 hours of receiving gift. o Develop, write and distribute annual Impact Report. o Implement other stewardship tactics such as Thanksgiving cards, handwritten thank you notes and others as appropriate. ? Development Operations: o Manages and is responsible for the operation of gift and pledge processing and acknowledgment o Manages/updates the electronic donor database (Nimble) or other databases o Prepares monthly reports on fundraising results, pledges, balances due, invoices to be sent out o Liaises with AMGA’s Finance department for gift processing when necessary and reconciliation of monthly financial reports.
Full time remote. In-person work in Alexandria, VA also available. COVID vaccine required.

Bachelor’s degree required ? Minimum of two to three years of fundraising experience including engaging and motivating donors. ? Strong writing, organizational, analytical, creative and strategic thinking skills. ? Communication skills, written and oral – writing letters, emails and other as appropriate; making presentations as needed. ? Expert at spreadsheets, project management, word processing and other software programs related to job responsibilities ? Interpersonal skills necessary to relate to and work with prospects and donors, especially in dealing with relationship building, solicitations and outstanding pledges ? Ability to take on multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly in a fast-paced environment ? Attention to detail ? Collaborative team skills ? Experience and insight into trade association/nonprofit operating systems and ability to navigate successfully through them.
