Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Provide, under direct supervision, support for specified research procedures. Assist in general laboratory operation and inventory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Under supervision, assist prepping patient (animal) for surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
* Read and follow experimental protocols (May include animal handling, tissue culture, etc.)
* Responsible for maintaining and sterilizing surgical instruments and linen for packs for surgical procedures.
* Follow safety protocols (may include use of anesthesia gases, radioactivity, biological and toxic material, and/or carcinogenics)
* Perform calculations involving drug dosages, % solutions, and dilutions.
* Prepare and operate equipment in experimental procedures
* May include blood gas analyzer, autoclave, centrifuge, anesthesia machine, monitors, etc.
* Maintain and repair equipment according to manufacturer and facility guidelines.
* Ensure Laboratory is prepared for experiments
* Maintain inventories
* Maintain sterile conditions as required
* Prepare reagents
* Clean equipment.
