Here, students’ educational experience and activities are enriched by our location — from the energy and innovation of Burlington to the forests, farms, and independent spirit of Vermont. UVM provides students endless ways to explore the world, challenge ideas, and dig in on the most pressing issues of our time.
Founded in 1822, The Larner College of Medicine is the seventh oldest medical school in the nation.
The historic 2016 gift from Class of 1942 graduate Dr. Robert Larner and his wife, Helen, has further strengthened the College's efforts to provide a medical education that is second to none. Recent initiatives include digitizing the entire curriculum, creating new innovative classrooms that facilitate active learning, building an enhanced simulation center to help students learn clinical skills, and the recruitment of an endowed Professor of Medic...al Education to lead the Teaching Academy.
The UVM Health Network is a six-hospital and home health & hospice system with more than 1,000 physicians, and 2,000 nurses and other clinicians in Vermont and northern New York.
