RWJBarnabas Health is Seeking 2 Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialists for Employment in New Jersey for its Northern Region of the Children’s Health Network
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking two physicians trained in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. These full-time positions will focus on cultivating the continued development of our Pediatric Infectious Diseases teams and will provide mentorship opportunities in addition to personal career growth.
As three of our teaching hospitals, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center provide opportunities for strong clinical collaboration as well as opportunities to teach and supervise residents and medical students. In addition to educational opportunities, these roles will include clinical time in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, with most outpatient time dedicated to hospital follow-up visits.
Position one: Pediatric infectious disease specialist for a full faculty position in the Division of Allergy, Immunology & Infectious Disease. The new faculty member will have clinical, teaching and other academic responsibilities within the Division and the Department of Pediatrics. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated physician who is passionate about academic medicine and clinical/lab bench research. The ideal candidate will join a well-established team of six full-time faculty members. Located in New Brunswick, NJ, this is in a family friendly location offering urban and suburban life-styles within one hour of NYC, Philadelphia and the Jersey shore, as well as Rutgers Big Ten athletics and cultural events.
Position two: Pediatric infectious disease specialist to help build the clinical, educational and quality programs for the Northern Region’s two Children’s Hospitals. Clinical work will mainly be focused in the Northern Region. The Northern Region consists of the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ (CHoNJ) and the McMullen Children’s Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. The two hospitals of the Northern Region are 20 minutes apart. Located in Northern NJ, part of Essex County, this is an ideal location to reside with easy access to NYC, beautiful suburban neighborhoods, diverse communities, and top-notch school districts -- plus access to museums, fine dining and great shopping!

The Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric medical subspecialists who actively collaborate with pediatric surgical specialists in clinical care and academic endeavors, with 70+ beds reserved for patients. The medical school is part of the only children’s academic health campus in New Jersey, composed of the medical school's Child Health Institute of New Jersey, the PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital, and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, part of RWJBarnabas Health. The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital (BMSCH) at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is the focal point of New Brunswick’s growing children’s health campus, which includes the Rutgers Child Health Institute and PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital.
