Job Summary
The ACFO of Revenue Cycle works under minimum supervision, and is responsible for systemic approaches that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue. They enhance and maintain a properly functioning revenue cycle process through a cross-department organizational structure. They have responsible for centralized revenue cycle functions including admissions/patient registration, physician, and facility coding, chargemaster, payer contracting, charge audit, hospital and physician billing, accounts receivable and collections and revenue cycle training. They develop and execute strategy, departmental plans, and tactics related to revenue cycle and develop/track appropriate metrics. This individual will chair our revenue cycle committee and other organization-wide committees as appropriate. The ACFO of Revenue Cycle also facilitates training, standard work, and quality assurance with related feedback for revenue cycle areas that do not centrally report. From time to time, changes may be made to move additional revenue cycle areas into or out of the scope of responsibility for this position, but the position is always responsible for organization-wide standard work, training, QA and feedback.
Essential Functions:
Develop department plans with direct reports in the revenue cycle team and ensuring that they support and materially impact organizational tactics and pillars, particularly as relates to Financial Strength. Regular review of plans and metrics with adjustments made continually as needed in order to achieve or exceed goals. Develop and execute on performance improvement initiatives for all components of the revenue cycle and regularly measure performance compared to target condition. (25%)
Leadership development including coaching, mentoring, retention, constructive feedback for Revenue Cycle leadership team. Identify gaps in training or skills and make adjustments as necessary. (25%)
Oversee process of development of standard work for the organization with respect to all revenue cycle activities including policy determination. Ensure that all policy decisions and standard work are appropriately documented and readily available for all in the organization to access. (20%)
Participate in implementation of new revenue cycle system and continually develop other ways to automate all processes related to the revenue cycle to the extent it makes processes more efficient. Ensure implementation of systems necessary to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g. ClearQuote to comply with state laws regarding price quotations). (15%)
Liaison with physicians and other stakeholders with respect to Revenue cycle information and projects. Work with physician leaders and department managers throughout the organization on revenue cycle initiatives related to their areas of responsibility. (10%)
Participate in / execute on special projects or other duties as assigned by the CFO (5%)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Work Experience:
7-9 years of experience in a Revenue Cycle department Required and
1-3 years of senior level health care financial management experience Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to identify, recruit and retain talented and skilled personnel for leadership and staff roles in the Revenue Cycle function.
Ability to drive execution and use appropriate tools to continually improve performance.
Knowledge of third party billing with strong Medicaid billing background preferred.
Demonstrated performance in meeting and exceeding aggressive cash collection targets.
Understanding of complex billing systems to include Medicaid, FQHC, and provider/physician billing.
Experience/training in facility or provider coding preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
