Opportunity information:
The selected physician will participate in an inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary consultative services, bronchoscopy, other invasive procedure coverage and in teaching of students and residents rotating through the VA and supervising advanced practice providers. Position consists of approximately 40% ICU coverage, 40% clinic and 20% administrative, teaching and procedure time. Candidate will participate in expanding and developing EBUS program. A wide variety of patients including those with chronic obstructive lung disease, interstitial lung disease, asthma, sarcoidosis, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension and sleep disordered breathing are evaluated in the outpatient clinics. Provider will be responsible for care of seriously ill//life-threatening/serious medical conditions/health issue in the ICU. Provider will participate in electronic consultations (e-consult) to improve access to pulmonary care. Will work collaboratively with other specialists as necessary in providing the best care to Veterans. The position provides an outstanding opportunity for individuals committed to an academic career in clinical care, teaching and research. Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment within the Department of Medicine at University of Washington and be involved with educating and teaching of medical students, residents & other providers. The Pulmonary Critical Care Section serves patients across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care for more than 30,000 veterans.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, with on-call coverage (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).
Must be U.S. Citizen – Non-US Citizens may be considered
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Board Certification in PCCM preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered
