Come join our Venice Family Clinic as a Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse. Incumbent assists provider staff of adult and pediatric primary care clinic in providing health care to clinic population and leadership to Medical Assistants to ensure efficient clinic flow and excellent patient care and customer service.
As a Sr. LVN you will:
Interview patients regarding health problems and accurately record services provided in patients chart using EHR.
Take vital signs and performs point of service care, such as hemoglobin, blood sugars, urine tests, etc. and CLIA waived back office labs.
Perform in-clinic procedures, such as urine cath, visual acuity, audiometry, etc.
Provides immunizations, PPD placements and readings, breathing treatments, oral, injectable and topical medications as ordered by providers and per protocol.
Performs various types of wound care, and assist with examinations and translate for providers as needed.
Provide contraceptive counseling and pregnancy counseling.
Help monitor clinic flow and coordinate with provider, nursing and front desk staff.
Train medical assistants and volunteer staff.
Oversee overall inventory of supplies and forms as needed.
Process screening tests and send lab specimens to the appropriate lab.
Perform other duties as assigned within legal scope of practice.

Salary Range: $34.61 - $45.66 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Current California LVN license (IV Certified)
Current BCLS/CPR card and ability to assist in a medical emergency.
Experience working with pediatric population with skill in starting IVs, urinary catheterization and routine immunizations.
Effective oral and written bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Ability to perform phlebotomy on adults, children and infants.
Ability to follow through on assignments, while helping to facilitate the organization, prioritization, and completion of all clinic tasks through collaboration with other clinic staff.
Interpersonal skills to deal with patients, staff and volunteers of diverse educational, economic and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to pass Basic Health Worker course and obtain certificate.
Ability to proactively problem solve, and prioritize medical problems within scope of job responsibilities.
Knowledge of health education, public health, and medical terminology.
Ability to travel between our sites within LA County.
