In this role, you will work under the general supervisor of the Chief Radiation Therapy Technologist and your functions will include:
- Applying ionizing radiation according to MD's prescription
- Patient scheduling and appointments
- Performing dose calculations and basic nursing duties
- Treatment data entry
- Working with physicians, physicists and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CT's
Salary: $66.04 - $87.12 hourly
- ARRT License
- CRT License
- 5 or more years radiation therapy experience
- BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist
- Truebeam, Tomotherapy, Novalis, CT and MR guided RT experience
- Ability to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Working knowledge of University procedures regarding isolation of immuno-suppressed patients.
- Knowledge of the principles and applications of thermo-luminescent dosimeters.
- Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, machine breakdowns, heavy patient volume and emergency cases.
- Skill in inspecting treatment machines to assure they conform to present standards.
- Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist.
