In this ole you will will assist physicians with various administrative aspects of patient care in their respective department. Under the direction of physicians, these administrative aspects include assisting with recording the physician medical record documentation (electronic or paper) of patient history, review of systems, physical exam findings, progress notes, procedure notes, follow-up of laboratory and diagnostic results, expediting consults, and assisting with recording the documentation for patient care and follow-up. You will work in close association with physicians assigned to the department and will be part of the medicine team. You may also participate in monitoring the completion of physician medical record documentation to assess for charts completeness and will send incomplete charts back to appropriate physicians as needed.
Work hours may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This is a part time role
Salary Range: $21.93 - $30.74
"SenateBill 525 was signed into law by Governor Newsom in October 2023. StartingJune 1, 2024, SB525 sets a new $23
minimum wage for nonexempthealthcare workers and raises the exempt employee salary threshold to $1,380/week
(equivalent to $5,980/month or$71,760/year).

services," which means "patientcare-related services including nursing; caregiving; services provided bymedical residents,
interns, or fellows; technical andancillary services; janitorial work; housekeeping; grounds keeping; guardduties; business
office clerical work; foodservices; laundry; medical coding and billing; call center and warehouse work;scheduling; and gift
shop work; but only where suchservices support patient care".
2. Employees (career, contract,student, per diem) in the UCLA Health medical facilities (e.g. Ronald ReaganMedical Center,
Santa Monica UCLA Hospital,Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, etc.) meet these criteria."
Required:

Preferred:
1. A minimum of two years of scribe or related physician support experience
2. Prior experience with training new Physician Support Assistants
3. Previous experience with electronic medical records such as Medhost, EPIC, Cerner, etc.
4. Detailed knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to distinguish different exams and medical diagnoses is required.
5. Knowledge of E&M codes and the level of documentation necessary for each billing level
