Nemours is seeking a Orthotics/Prosthetics Carver Technician II in Jacksonville, FL.

Primary Functions:

This individual will be responsible for the technical operations and the daily/long-term operations of the robotic carver in the Orthotic and Prosthetic department lab. They shall assist in the fabrication, molding, measuring, and fitting of orthotics/prosthetics patients and provide assistance to the CPO/CP/CO. Maintaining the lab material includes managing inventory levels and carver supplies. This individual will also be responsible for the delivery of care in accordance with Nemours Policies and procedures and promotes a patient and family centered care model.

Their duties include managing the workflow of the milling and carver system. They will learn to manage all aspects of the carver including using modification software and the interface system that controls the fabrication of foam molds. This position will also need to be proficient in documenting in the patient charts while understanding how to correspond with all aspects of the EMR system.

Essential Functions:

1. Manage carver processes, including digital modification of foam molds.
2. Prepare molds for pulling and cut the plastics for pulling and/or any digital modification.
3. Fill casts and modify molds for fabrication.
4. Clean and shape braces.
5. Repair and modify braces as requested.
6. Pull plastics.
7. Assist CPO/CP/CO with patient care.
8. Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor/all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in modifying plaster molds, pulling plastic, and custom brace design is required.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
• Certified O and P Assistant, Certified O and P Technician, Certified Pedorthist, Certified Orthotic Fitter preferred.
