SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Penn State Health- Hershey seeks two advanced practice provider to assist in the care of our surgical and non-surgical orthopaedic patients. The APP's time will be spent focusing on inpatient management of orthopaedic patients. Penn State Hershey Medical Center is a Level 1 trauma hospital, and sees a range of orthopaedic trauma and elective conditions. The inpatient APP will be responsible for day-to-day management of both primary patients on the orthopaedic service as well as consults. This APP participates in both medical and orthopaedic management, as well as discharge planning.

The ideal candidate will have previous orthopedic experience, preferably in inpatient orthopaedics. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work well in small teams and interact with other surgical and medical specialties, including Internal Medicine, General Surgery Trauma, PT/OT, and Discharge planners. These positions work closely with our residents in caring for patients, so applicant should have an interest in education and support of our academic mission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required.
• Two (2) years' work experience as a RN required.
• Current licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Certification as an NP in the area of practice specialization is preferred.
