JOB SUMMARY As a Usability Researcher, you will hold a pivotal role in advancing customer experiences and driving innovation across our digital products and services. Your expertise will be crucial in conceptualizing, testing and executing user-focused solutions that elevate the overall experience for patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to lead concept and usability research efforts, translating complex findings into actionable functionality and feature solutioning. This role is 50% strategic and 50% execution, which requires a proven track record in conducting impactful UX research, a deep understanding of user-centric design principles and a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholder product design strategy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE USABILITY RESEARCHER ROLE
Plan and Conduct Usability Studies: Design and execute usability studies, including usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and cognitive walkthroughs.
Participant Recruitment and Moderation: Recruit appropriate participants for studies, moderate sessions effectively, and collect qualitative and quantitative data.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze usability data to derive actionable insights and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and developers to integrate usability findings into design iterations. Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional customer research and data analytics teams to integrate insights into usability testing strategy and product development.
Usability Testing Tools and Methods: Utilize a variety of experiential and transactional usability testing tools and methodologies to evaluate digital products and interfaces.
Accessibility and Inclusivity: Ensure usability studies consider accessibility and inclusivity principles, advocating for user-centered design practices.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to usability research and user experience.
Communication and Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate usability findings and recommendations to stakeholders, advocating for user needs.
Documentation and Standardization: Document research methods, findings, and protocols, contributing to the standardization of usability research processes within the organization.
Ethical Considerations: Adhere to ethical guidelines and principles in usability research, ensuring participant confidentiality and informed consent.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Deeply empathetic user researcher that is endlessly curious about what drives customer behavior.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Engineering (Human Factors Engineering), Computer / Information Science, or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a UX researcher, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful research metrics, outcomes and the ability to influence product design and strategy.
Expertise in conducting concept and usability research methods, such as interviews, surveys and questionnaires, cognitive walkthroughs, accessibility testing, A/B testing, card sorting, heuristic evaluations, etc.
Proficiency in analyzing research data and synthesizing findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of UX design principles and best practices, with an understanding of how research informs design decisions.
Familiarity with healthcare industry trends, patient engagement, and regulatory considerations is highly desirable, but not required.
Proficiency in using UX research tools and software, such as FigJam, Miro, Optimizely, UserTesting.com, Qualtrics, and other research platforms.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines
Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor junior researchers, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Salary Range:
The pay range for this position is $142,188k annually/ $68.36/hr (entry-level qualifications) - $209,560k annually/ $100.75/hr (highly-experienced). The specific rate will depend upon the successful candidate's specific qualifications and prior experience.
