Summary:

The Manager of Perioperative Service manages the business operations including, but not limited to, effective planning and implementation of operational budget, month-end and ad-hoc reporting financial analysis, statistical reporting and analysis, process improvement/ LEAN projects, and the management of perioperative supply chain operations. This role demands a keen eye for detail strong financial acumen and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Perioperative Business Manager reports to the Administrative Director of Perioperative Services.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the development implementation and maintenance of the perioperative services annual operating budget processes. On-going monitoring of operational budget variances and plans appropriate adjustments with the leadership. Collaborates with Finance department. Conducts research to support Perioperative Services in securing data to provide statistical and benchmarking analytical support in alignment with organization strategic plan.

Evaluates effectiveness of operations and makes recommendations to the Perioperative Leadership Team. Develops standard and ad hoc reports for the Surgical Services Executive Committee as need.

Collaborates with Purchasing and Biomed departments in the planning, preparation, and maintenance of the capital budget and service contracts for Perioperative Services departments.

Is responsible for the procurement process of all capital equipment; including obtaining, reviewing, and negotiating bids/ quotes.

Through collaboration with and direction from perioperative leadership, provides input and management of departmental Key Performance Indicators for the effective and efficient operation of the departments.

Oversees production and distribution of various regular and ad hoc surgical information reports and documents. Ensures integrity of data reported; reviews audit and other production and non-routine reports to determine accuracy of data input and overall integrity of master file data. Follows up with appropriate personnel to resolve data entry systems use errors. Assists users in analysis validation and interpretation of data.

Collaborates with Materials Management leadership and Value Analysis team regarding supply purchases usage and pricing. Ensures effective and efficient management of perioperative supply chain. Performs business case for new supplies and implants as necessary.

Drives continuous improvement initiatives throughout all perioperative services departments by using proving quality improvement tools (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc.)

Coordinates all IT projects within perioperative services.

Provides on-going interpretation of financial and clinical data for service and medical staff to facilitate understanding the impact of their clinical/service practice to the financial goals of the organization.

5+ years of related experience
