Seeking a board-eligible/board-certified General Surgeon who can provide temporary General Surgery call coverage in a unique and beautiful rural location. - Per Diem position to provide temporary coverage for our full-time providers.
- Flexible schedule, on-call coverage required for one week on one week off schedule. Physician must stay within 20 minutes of the facility while providing call coverage.
- Housing and transportation to Alaska provided
- Experienced physician with a current Alaska medical license required
- Ideal candidate will have a passion for rural medicine and a dedication to high quality care

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center is the sole provider of acute and emergency care for Kodiak Island. Accredited by The Joint Commission and designated as a Level IV trauma center by the State of Alaska, this 25-bed critical-access hospital plays an indispensable role in the lives of 14,000 Kodiak residents, the Coast Guard base and neighboring villages. With a state-of-the-art MRI and 64-slice CT, this hospital receives high marks, and providers are able to offer advanced care.
