LabCorp is seeking a Lab Services Team Leader to join our busyMicrobiology department in Burlington, NC! As a member of the Microbiology group, our lab is one of the leading testing laboratories in the United States. This position performs functions of a Senior Technologist as well as coordinates the work of other technologist and technicians for that shift alongside, lab supervisors/managers.
Assays performed in the Microbiology area include Qualitative and Quantitative PCR, with the overall goal of providing results that can be used for the diagnosis and management of a wide range of infections using real-time PCR detection of nucleic acid.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related life science.
Minimum 6 years of experience in a clinical laboratory testing environment.
Previous lead experience preferred, but not required.
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Must be able to work in a team oriented and fast paced environment.
The working schedule for this position will be: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm. This position is eligible for 10% shift differential due to 2nd shift hours.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Performing routine and moderate to complex tests and analysis according to established procedures in designated technical department.
Evaluates new procedures or methods under direct supervision of department supervisor or group leader.
Reviewing and assigning work
Assists in training and orientation of personnel as assigned.
Overseeing daily operations.
Administering the quality control program,
Ensuring that schedule time frames are met,
Advising management of problem areas,
Assisting in employee actions,
Acting as liaison with other departments and customers on technical inquiries and test results.
Other duties as assigned by management.
