Summary:

The Lead Floor Care Person is responsible for performing a variety of general tasks at Bon Secours Community Hospital facilities. This position establishes and maintains a safe, sanitary, attractive, and orderly facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs cleaning and maintenance of all floors: including but not limited to tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Uses and maintains equipment properly.
• Operates and maintains all equipment correctly and safely.
• Observes safety precautions at all times including using safety signs (i.e., wet floor).
• Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
• Operates heavy machinery in the department.
• Ensures assigned work areas is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Cleans, maintains, and organizes equipment room.
• Cleans and maintains all equipment.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuum cleaners.
• Shampoos rugs and furniture; cleans vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines.
• Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc., as directed.
• Buffs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors.
• Moves large items in and out of storage.
• Trains new hires and existing staff in floor care procedures.
• Doing set up and breaking down set ups for functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
