Summary:

The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for writing and researching various internal organizational communications. The Specialist ensures that YRMC's purpose and key messages are communicated effectively, accurately and consistently to the YRMC workforce. This Corporate Communications Specialist coordinates all employee communications through the development and execution of strategic communication plans, social media platforms and the intranet.

Responsibilities:

* Creates and disseminates YRMC team member communications; develops and implements brand aligned communication plans to educate, inform, and inspire through various communications platforms including: weekly newsletters, social media groups, quarterly publications, organization wide briefings, digital and crisis communications.

* Maintains the organization's intranet and trains internal audiences in the guidelines and use of the platform.

* Works with leaders to proactively identify communication opportunities and challenges. Aligns communication strategy with goals of the organization to positively impact employee engagement.

* Partners with executive leadership, staff and physicians to write special communications including patient stories, presentations, staff features, social posts, submissions and other tactics to enhance internal communications and elevate the brand. Effectively writes message to appropriate audiences and demographics.

* Edits and proofs content for community relations; uses accepted journalist standards to provide strong editing and proofreading for materials used in advertising, marketing, communications, patient education, web site, and others as identified.

* Coordinates and/or takes professional photos, video to compliment writing content; edits photos for publications and digital communications.

* Develops social media strategy, including creative content and execution, that increases brand awareness and engagement of workforce. Uses digital analytics and data to shift tactics for optimal engagement and results.

* Works collaboratively with other communication colleagues, partners and stakeholders to ensure an integrated, effective approach across all communication channels.

* Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Essential:
* BACHELOR'S DEGREE

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.

* Minimum of 3 years of writing and communications experience, preferably in a fast paced, complex environment. Healthcare experience preferred.

* Exceptional written, verbal and judgement skills

* Proficient in Microsoft applications and social media platforms.

* Highly effective writing style with expertise in simplifying complex concepts and messages for a broad and diverse audience.

* Able to perform under tight deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

* Ability to remain flexible and responsive when faced with multiple urgent requests.

* Proven experience in building relationships with a broad range of leaders, stakeholders and influencers.
