Nemours is seeking a Plant Operator (Full-Time) to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.

This position maintains all equipment in the utility plant. Responsible for monitoring operation of and adjusting boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, vacuum pumps, pumps, valves, and other auxiliary equipment.

• Operate and monitor energy plant activities including, but not limited to review of daily boiler and chiller operation, HVAC equipment, vacuum systems, and medical air and compressed air systems. Monitor all building systems related to temperature, humidity, electrical, and elevator operations. Monitor electrical system demands.
• Perform service and repairs to maintain utility plant equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds to established standards.
• Inform Plant Operator Leads / Plant Operations Manager of problems identified during preventive or corrective maintenance; recommend corrective action, modifications, or replacements.
• Complete assigned preventative and corrective maintenance work orders timely and accurately.
• Work with other trades personnel as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Coordinate, conduct, and document all fire and life safety measures throughout the Utility Plant.
• Participate and employ behaviors that promote teamwork to achieve department goals.
• Adhere to the requirements of scheduled on-call shift work as determined by department leadership.
• Maintain current inventory of utility plant equipment.
• Perform routine safety inspections of buildings.
• Assist with evacuation procedures.
• Abide by all relevant facility policies and procedures.
• Utilize a reordering process for procurement of facility equipment and parts.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and operable condition following prescribed safety regulations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required. One year of training beyond High School.
• Minimum (3) three years of experience required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Travel may be required.
