Provide technical support for network voice systems for a university medical system, particularly VoIP (voice over internet protocol) software and hardware platforms. Responsible for the implementation and support of VoIP equipment and software, daily operational incidents, service request tickets, network and VoIP break/fix support, incident escalation, network maintenance and network configuration. Provide day-to-day support of the 24 x 7 production environment of network and VoIP, including wired and wireless access layers, IPAM, DHCP, VoIP systems, WAN, and network and VoIP monitoring. Build, install, monitor, optimize, troubleshoot, maintain and document a variety of systems of the network. Participate in the weekly rotational after-hours 24x7 on-call customer support. Perform root cause analysis. Validate production readiness of environment technical designs. Participate in the implementation of new technology, including preparation, training, change management, development of new standards, and documentation. Assist and execute disaster recovery procedures. Provide analysis of business requirements to provide sound technical solutions. Conduct hardware and software evaluations, providing detailed analysis and recommendations based on the outcome of study. Investigate and recommend tools, scripts, and utilities to improve technical processes.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering or a related field. Five years of experience in job offered, or as a network engineer, network consultant or a related occupational title.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering or a related field plus three years of experience in job offered, or as a network engineer, network consultant or a related occupational title. The employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training. Demonstrated experience and knowledge on Cisco voice call manager and contact center infrastructure. Experience analyzing end-user business communication needs and devising effective cost-efficient recommendations. Experience researching and testing new communication and networking technologies and processes. Experience with data networking skills including IP and Ethernet routing and switching based network design. Experience performing testing and implementation utilizing the OSI model/ seven-layer and industry protocols including OSPF, HSRP, EIGRP, BGP, TCP/IP, 802.1x, IPSec, Radius, and TACACS+. Experience using network protocol analyzers and sniffers including WireShark and Fluke tools. Experience deciphering packet captures. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of IEEE 802.11 wireless standards and Aruba wireless controllers. Experience with voice and wireless services including SIP trunks, unified messaging, conferencing, and integrated access services. Experience working with support systems for network management including voice technologies, IP switching, and routing architectures supporting VoIP and ISP services. Experience working with VLAN, VRF, HSRP, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (CoS). Experience utilizing troubleshooting tools including traceroute, ping, mtr, nmap, netstat, ipconfig or ifconfig, and iperf. Experience providing communication system status reports to management or support personnel. Experience communicating with product end-users. Demonstrated experience working both independently and in team-oriented environment. Demonstrated experience writing clear, precise, detailed, comprehensive, and grammatically correct letters, memos, reports, policies, and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge in the following skills: Demonstrated knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS and TCP/IP. Demonstrated knowledge of Voice/VoIP and Wireless platforms including soft switches, communications manager, Unity, Unity connection, Voice Gateways, Feature Servers, Application Servers, Media Servers, IADs, and Wireless devices. Demonstrated knowledge of different cabling types: Multimode fiber, single-mode fiber, LC versus SC, 10/100/1000BaseX, Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, RJ45, and RJ11.
