The role you’ll contribute:

Hospital Operations Dispatch Operators are the “voice of the hospital” and are a key component to the Patient Experience. The HOD Operator is expected to respond quickly and effectively to all telecommunication and electronic communication; phone, page, fax, email requests and be familiar with emergency code procedures.  Monitors surveillance cameras, alarms to systems for medical gas, fire and life safety, infant abduction, access control, and generators. Dispatch appropriate resources via radio and telephone for response to system alarms. The Hospital Operations Dispatch Operator will also coordinate all activity of Security Officers in the field via radio communications. Maintain electronic records associated with all security operations.

The value you’ll bring to the team: 

· Answers and forwards all calls to appropriate extensions in a timely manner
· Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency with PBX operation
· Clearly annunciates overhead pages and contacts hospital staff as needed
· Responsible for accurately announcing emergency codes over the Public Address system
· Maintains current list of telephone numbers, extensions, faxes, and beepers, etc.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· High school diploma, GED
· One-year experience in Security or law enforcement dispatch OR PBX / multi-line in a large business or hospital setting 
· Prior experience with guest service industry particularly with a high-end hotel, airline etc. 
· Prior dispatching experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or fire/emergency medical services 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

· International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS)
