Nemours is seeking an Advanced Clinical Technician (FT 7A-7P) to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, FL. This position is for the Clinical Logistics Center.

This position functions as part of the clinical care team and collaborates with interprofessional team members to provide high-quality, safe, and patient/family centered care.

Essential Functions

1. Performs routine, uncomplicated, patient care activities applicable to unit/department.

2. Emergency Department: Application of hot/cold therapy, casting/splinting procedures, insertion of non-indwelling urinary catheters, simple wound care, taking vital signs and chaperoning pelvic and rectal examinations. Establishes peripheral IV and IO access; performs phlebotomy, point of care testing and lab specimen collection procedures.

3. Clinical Logistics Center: Provide centralized remote monitoring of patient physiological data, EKGs, patient escort, and patient mobilization.

4. Performs routine, uncomplicated, respiratory procedures and treatments, including but not limited to delivery of low flow oxygen therapies, delivery of specific inhaled medications, incentive spirometry, and cleaning and maintenance of respiratory equipment.

5. Transport of patients using wheelchair, stretcher, or wagon within hospital and to and from vehicles.

6. Immediately reports any observed changes in patient and accurately relays clinical information.

7. Answers telephone and communicates with other disciplines and facilities.

8. Provides 1:1 observation for patients at risk of self-harm.

9. Utilizes the electronic medical record as required for patient care.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of EMT-P course and currently licensed in the state of Florida required
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification (BLS) through American Heart Association required prior to start date
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS) through American Heart Association required prior to start date
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life support (ACLS) through American Heart Association required prior to start date
• Decontamination (HERT) training required within one year of hire.
• One year of patient care experience is highly preferred
