The West Palm Beach VA Health Care System is seeking an experienced and dynamic mid-level Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). Our ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)- formerly known as the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) -OR- The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). -OR- The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. -OR- In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Master's or Doctoral Degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission (ACEN-Formerly NCLAC) or the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certification in Adult, Family, Adult Gerontology Acute Care and Adult Gerontology Primary Care: Must be licensed or otherwise recognized as a NP in a State and maintain full and current certification as a NP from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body. Making arrangements for further care if appropriate (e.g., by entering consults) and serving as a consultant to other providers. Working collaboratively with all levels of staff including trainees (e.g., medical students, NP/RN students, PA students, interns, residents, etc.) and a multidisciplinary staff in a fast-paced educational, and collegial environment. Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members Orders and interprets diagnostic studies Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
