The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Riverview
·AdventHealth is expanding our medical expertise, innovation, and state-of-the-art technology to southern Hillsborough County through a brand-new hospital in Riverview, which is scheduled to open in 2024. ·The new AdventHealth Riverview hospital will include 82 beds at time of opening with space to expand to 202 beds in the future. ·This $250 million project in Riverview also includes a 100,000 square foot, four-story Medical Office Building that will provide community members convenient access to expert care. ·AdventHealth Riverview will offer a wide range of health care services which includes emergency, cardiovascular, digestive, urology, orthopedic and women’s care.
The role you’ll contribute:
The Inpatient (IP) Wound Care nurse will be responsible for IP wound care oversight, wound/ostomy consultation, and management, monitoring of quality indicators and staff education. This role will participate in the hospital skin & wound committee and serve as a liaison between the IP and OP wound care/hyperbaric programs within the Riverview market. The wound care nurse shall provide mentorship and education to the department nursing personnel. Will delegate patient care tasks based on the needs of the patient and the knowledge and skills of the individual selected to perform the identified tasks.

·Demonstrates critical thinking and independent decision making, utilizing policies and procedures, standards of care and data analysis (e.g., manages crisis prevention and intervention at a unit level). ·Collaborates and communicates with physicians to ensure quality care. ·Able to collect, prepare and complete appropriate test requests for lab specimens and required testing. ·Reviews and able to communicate lab results necessary for treatment recommendations. ·Develops, utilizes, and models effective time management skills. ·Develops and implements inpatient wound care program to include patient care protocols, documentation tools and wound care referral criteria. ·Through training and support, empowers all clinical staff to effectively assess wounds, recommend appropriate protocols, and advocates with physicians.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
·Current Florida state Registered Nurse licensure ·BLS certification upon hire ·Wound Care Certification and/or Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN)
