The Semel Insititute is seeking to hire a full time Staff Research Assistant of the Principal Investigator and the Assistant Adjunct Professor, the SRA I provide technical support to members of the research team on number of projects from the lab and in collaboration with outside investigators.
Main duties of this role include:
- managing mouse colonies (mouse weaning, biopsy the mice by ear punch after weaning, genotyping).
- sectioning mouse brains and performing immunostaining.
- Intracranial stereotaxic injections.
- Coordinating or running standard fear-related behavioral tests.
Required:
- Working experience in a laboratory setting for at least a year.
- High motivation and positive attitude.
- Willingness to work as part of a dynamic and active disease-oriented research team in an academic setting.
Preferred:
- B.A or B.S or higher degrees in life sciences field.
- Working experience in neuroscience, with mouse handling experience.
- Basic histology skills.
