We are building out a large team for EPIC functionality. We will need multiple roles filled between December thru April for skilled people which extensive EPIC build experience (installed and being installed). These are hybrid roles designed for those in the DFW area, as they will be onsite at least once per week to support "Go Lives". We may consider further distances outside of DFW, but would need to be onsite once per month.
JOB SUMMARY
The Epic Technical Specialist is responsible for the strategic design and optimal implementation of Epic features, solutions, and enhancements aligned with BSWH strategic initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of multiple Epic modules, and is responsible for collaborating with various operational leaders, information services, and managed services partners to champion ideation and creative solutions to align with the organization's strategic goals and maximize the utility of Epic for patient care and administrative functions. The Epic Technical Specialist is also responsible for mentoring junior and experienced analysts, supporting their development in problem-solving, project execution and go-live activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Epic Systems Expertise: Serve as the primary cross-application expert on Epic for an entire portfolio - providing guidance for design decisions, including providing input on potential impacts on downstream modules, and performing complex troubleshooting.
Solution Design: Collaborate with operational executive leaders and cross-functional teams to design and implement mature, innovative solutions that meet the organization's needs. This includes ideation, customization, configuration, and integration with other third-party applications.
Technical Consulting and Mentorship: Assist analysts and portfolio owners with solution design, scoping calibration, and serve as an expert to validate enhancements and potential projects under the clinical team purview. Foster an environment of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
System Optimization: Proactively review technical setup for critical architecture and configuration and provides optimization and improvement opportunities - articulating the required level of effort with the benefits of each potential improvement.
Portfolio Health and Integration: Continuously evaluate and optimize new Epic modules and features to improve efficiency, usability, and patient outcomes. Create business cases for new features for evaluation by operational leadership. When an Epic-module does not meet current needs, oversee the integration of Epic with new and existing third-party systems to ensure an optimal long-term approach.
Project Leadership and Execution: Play an active role in project planning, execution, and go-live support, ensuring smooth transitions to staff responsible for maintenance.
