The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for directing, controlling and coordinating all activities within the Sterile Processing department, and interdepartmental related activities. Supervises staff and ensures cleaning and sterility of instruments/equipment. Promotes an effective team environment of collaborative healthcare professionals providing quality care to the patients of AdventHealth. Responsible to adhere to the AdventHealth Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Establishes, inventories, and maintains adequate par levels of materials.
Monitors and maintains appropriate levels of instrumentation for perioperative services, including loaner, consignment, and owned inventory.
Monitors, rotates, and removes all outdated and overstocked materials and verifies that par levels are adjusted accordingly.
Notifies Materials Management, and OR Manager of all outdated supplies that are removed from the par level.
Oversees Central Supply Department staff.
Oversees the through put of Surgical Instrumentation.
Works with the OR to determine priorities for instrument turn over.
Reviews the surgical schedule in advance to verify that proper supplies and equipment are available when needed.
Takes appropriate actions to provide a high level of service for all customers (eg, physicians, health care industry representatives [HCIRs], perioperative personnel and to provide prompt responses for emergently needed (STAT) equipment, supplies, and instruments.
Helps to monitor and manage HCIR access to Surgical Services.
Verifies that complete instrument log records are maintained to include the loaning of of equipment as well as the receiving of loaner equipment.
Assists with goal setting and financial management of supply costs, including assistance with development of and adherence to the perioperative and facility budget.
Maintains records of purchase orders, requisitions, and product literature.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
High School Diploma required.
Four (4) years of Central Sterile Experience
HSPA, IAHCSMM or CRCST Certification required. Must maintain certification at all times.
Prior leadership experience
