Shift: 6:30AM -5:00 PM - 4 10-hour shifts. No call or weekend requirements. This position also floats to AH Apopka and East.

The role you’ll contribute:
The EP Cath Lab Lead, performs, at a technical level, a variety of cardiovascular procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. Has the latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity, and takes initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required. Participates in the AdventHealth performance improvement program. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

•Based on regulatory allowable practices at each specially licensed campus facility, proficiently performs effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in a diagnostic or therapeutic cardiac laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals scope of practice or performs effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in an electrophysiology laboratory based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals scope of practice.
•Contributes to overall quality of diagnostic service, and documentation. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department and holds team members accountable for providing quality care.
•Consistently and appropriately problem solves day to day issues.
•Assists with smooth patient flow by assuring timely room turn over and prep. Effectively communicates with staff, physicians, and department management.
•Exhibits desire to learn and upgrade clinical and leadership skills. Seeks education opportunities and coaches' staff towards professional growth. Maintains familiarity with new procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required.
•Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit. Maintains and promotes a positive attitude, self-motivation, and mutual respect toward patients, physicians, and fellow team members. Leads as part of a team and possesses or obtains an advanced skill set while keeping current with emerging trends. Educates and shares knowledge with team members within the department to increase independence.
•Supports and assists with data collection for process improvement while understanding the department performance trends and established standards. Contributes and encourages others to contribute toward process improvement by serving on process improvement (PI) teams as assigned. Participates in department surveys and patient satisfaction initiatives.
•Utilizes knowledge of the levels of growth, development and skills for all patients that enter department.
•May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing. If performing non-waived Point of Care Testing, as defined by the state or the facility must have approved competency and documented proof (copy of either diploma or transcript, at the highest level of academic achievement) at the time of the facility non-waived Point of Care training.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
•Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation
•Knowledge of Cardiovascular anatomy
•Knowledge of vascular anatomy
•Knowledge of Hemodynamic Monitoring
•Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
•Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
•Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment
•Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
•Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
•Knowledge of advanced levels of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation •Knowledge of electrophysiology diagnostic procedures
•Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures
•Knowledge of peripheral diagnostic procedures
•Knowledge of peripheral interventional procedures
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED:
•One year of experience in the modality assigned to lead
•Associate degree OR Bachelors in Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology or Respiratory Therapy
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
•>2 years cath lab experience
•Cardiovascular Lab experience
•Interventional Radiology Lab experience
•Peripheral Lab experience
•Electrophysiology Lab experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION: REQUIRED:
•Basic Life Support (BLS)
•Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Must possess and maintain one of the following:
•Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
•Specialty certification as defined by individual cost center
•Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for certified primary or comprehensive stroke center
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist Supervisor and Manager in daily tasks as needed
•Provide feedback on staff performance to Supervisor and Manager
•Observes and coaches team member performance and behaviors. If/when needed, brings concerns to supervisor's attention for handling.
