Phoenix Children’s Hospital has an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner interested in joining one of the most respected teams in the region in serving children who are suspected victims of child maltreatment. Monday – Fridays, Days.
The candidate will join a dedicated team of 7 other providers (4 physicians and 3 advanced practice nurses), 3 Forensic Interviewers, 2 social workers, multiple SANE RNs, and MAs trained in child protection.
This team provides services to children that are suspected victims of maltreatment (sexual and/or physical abuse) and our providers partner with all inpatient hospital services in the consultant role while also providing services to children in the community at ChildHelp Children’s Advocacy Center of Arizona, Southwest Family Advocacy Center and Mesa Family Advocacy Center. Providers rotate call for both inpatient and outpatient services. It is the only team in Phoenix which has specialty training in pediatrics and services approximately 1,000 children a year and is considered the expert statewide. We partner closely with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office as well as the Phoenix and other local community police departments. As the population of Phoenix grows, so does the need for these specialty services.
Desired Skills & Experience Minimum Qualifications: • Arizona NP License or ability to obtain prior to employment • Pediatric NP preferred • Previous experience in Child Advocacy, Child Maltreatment required
