The Palliative Care Practice of MaineHealth Medical Group (MHMG) is seeking a Hospice Medical Director and palliative care physician to join our rapidly growing team. We are seeking a physician leader to serve as the Medical Director of MaineHealth Care at Home Hospice Program and Palliative Care services at the inpatient and outpatient settings at Pen Bay and Waldo County Hospitals.
This position offers:
Ability to serve as a leader of a hospice agency that delivers high quality end-of-life care in both home and inpatient settings.
Part of an effort to increase access to specialty palliative care across MaineHealth Medical Group. There are plans to continue to develop palliative care in the area, including to start a home-based palliative care program.
Working together with an interdisciplinary team in both the hospice and palliative care settings.
Team-based care model with collaborative approach to care.

Qualifications:
MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Hospice experience highly preferred.

Sussman House Hospice Care is located on the Pen Bay Medical Center campus in Rockport, the Sussman House provides care for people whose symptoms are not well managed at home. In partnership with MaineHealth Care at Home, the Sussman House provides advanced hospice services in a caring, home-like setting that promotes dignity and quality of life.
