The Multi-Modality Technologist performs radiologic exams with two Certified modalities to meet the needs of the department. Routinely works in these two disciplines in which they are registered to perform exams. These disciplines are Diagnostic X-ray and Computed Tomography.??
Responsibilities:
1. Performs radiologic exams in Diagnostic X-Ray and Computed Tomography to produce high quality imaging for diagnostic or interventional purposes according to protocol and age specific needs.
2. Routinely works in both disciplines in which they are registered to perform exams.
3. Operate complex medical imaging equipment.
4. Administers contrast materials where applicable.
5. Performs clerical duties in RIS, PACS and hospital computer systems as needed.
6. Participates in the weekend schedule coverage and the on-call schedule where applicable.
7. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
8. Directly supervise and assist affiliated radiography students.
9. Follows all QA/QC guidelines for all equipment.
10. Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1. 1 year experience in the primary imaging modality is required, 1 year experience in the secondary modality preferred.
2. 1 year experience in hospital setting is preferred.
3. Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
4. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.
2. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA certification is required. Certified with ARRT in Diagnostic X-ray and Computed Tomography. Licensed/certified to practice in specific state of employment is required.
3. Years of experience: 1 year experience in one imaging modality is required. One year of experience is each imaging modality is preferred.
