Job Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Assistant, certified or registered for our Central Carolina Surgery office located in Greensboro, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. CCS is a fast-paced clinical practice for 20 General Surgeons with sub-specialties in Bariatrics, Breast, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, Thyroid, and Trauma. We are seeking experienced and dedicated Medical Assistants to increase our clinical staff in order to better serve our patients.
Job Duties:
Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information, and other clinical information as indicated.
Perform telephone message taking with patients, document encounter, follow protocols established by clinic leadership, and inform provider.
Assists providers with procedures such as lipoma and/or cyst removal, incision and drainage, staple and suture removal, JP drain care, and ostomy care.
Assists providers with chairside assistance preparing for their clinic schedule, orders, postings for surgery, and cardiac clearance and referrals.
Performs tasks such as set up for clinical procedures, instrument cleaning & sterilization or other miscellaneous appropriate tasks within scope of practice.
Float in clinic to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by nurse manager, health center administrator, charge nurse, or nurse team lead.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
High school or GED graduation required.
Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
BLS required
