Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Public Health?Bloomington (SPH?B) invites applications for non-tenure-track (NTT) (open rank lecturer or open rank clinical professor) faculty position in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. The SPH-B seeks individuals who will contribute scientific excellence through teaching and service in epidemiological methods, public health practice, surveillance, and other areas of education and service that promote health and improved responses to epidemics. This 10?month appointment would ideally start August 1, 2025. Continuing the momentum of hiring over 60 outstanding faculty over the last two years, the SPH-B is launching another wave of faculty recruitment. The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics offers an undergraduate degree in epidemiology, a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology, a Master's degree in biostatistics, a Ph.D. in epidemiology and a Ph.D. in biostatistics. The department has approximately 100 students enrolled in its BSPH program in Epidemiology (which is one of only three CEPH-accredited BSPH programs in Epidemiology in the US), and approximately 100 other students enrolled across its residential and online graduate programs. A part of the flagship campus of Indiana University located in Bloomington, Indiana, the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics maintains strong connections to other departments in the School of Public Health and other schools across Indiana University.

Basic Qualifications
Qualifications: Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related field from an accredited educational institution. A firm commitment to the role of diversity in all aspects of research, education and service is essential. Candidates must have teaching experience, preferably at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and congenially within a diverse faculty are required. Leadership skills and vision for enhancing the academic components of an interdisciplinary department are essential.

Additional Qualifications
Responsibilities: Non-Tenure track (open rank lecturer or open rank clinical professor) faculty members in the Epidemiology and Biostatisticsare expected to substantially contribute to the overall academic excellence of the department by teaching and (for clinical faculty members) contributing to service internally to the department, school, university, and externally to the profession and/or the community. Evidence of a research portfolio in the applicant's areas of teaching and service, as well as experience mentoring students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, is also preferrable but not required. Areas of special interest for teaching and service include, but are not limited to clinical trials, observational studies, and other public health research methods for applications in infectious disease, nutrition, obesity, and other health outcomes. These positions are located on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington in Bloomington, Indiana, and successful candidates are expected to work on the campus to allow full engagement with the department, school, campus, and community. Indiana University bases its NTT promotion recommendations upon performance in excellent teaching (both ranks) and service (clinical rank).
