·Accurately obtain personal and financial information to admit/register patients to the hospital?s various clinical departments or inpatient care.
·Responsible for verification of insurance.
·Input patient data into the hospital?s electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
·Assign patients to appropriate departments or physicians based on their medical needs and appointment availability.
·Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses from patients, providing receipts and financial information as required.
·Schedule follow-up appointments, tests, or procedures for patients, coordinating with various departments to ensure availability.
·Provide patients with necessary paperwork, including consent forms, privacy notices, and patient rights documents, ensuring they understand all information.
·Assist in resolving patient concerns or complaints related to registration, billing, or insurance, referring complex issues to the appropriate department.
·Coordinate with medical staff, and accounting staff to ensure all patient information is received and recorded accurately.
·Perform clerical duties as assigned.
·Maintains accurate and continued documentation. Documentation meets current standards and policies.
·Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary.
·Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
