Role Purpose
Oversees daily operations of Respiratory Care in acute services. Oversees staffing and workload distribution for assigned programs and collaborates with other program and discipline leads to assure patient care needs are met. Assures that daily workflow is effective and promotes proactive problem solving among team members. Works under the direction of a supervisor, in collaboration with discipline leads and clinical specialists to assure regulatory standards are met. Assists the supervisor with management of the programs and serves as a resource / contact with customers such as patients, families, nurses, case managers and physicians.
Responsibilities
Assists with researching, evaluating, selecting and implementing systems which improve efficiency of assigned program and related operations.
Makes appropriate recommendations and consults with interdisciplinary teams to develop a plan of care based on the patient's expected outcome.
Provides consultation, evaluation and treatment services for patients ordered on therapy based on each patient's needs and delivers services in accordance with a written plan of care and policies, protocols and procedures.
Coordinates the daily activities of the programs in collaboration with hospital or campus interdisciplinary teams.
Supports supervisors and coordinators in organizing clinical and technical activities.
