The Northwell Health System is seeking a Chair of the Department of Neurology at Glen Cove Hospital. We are seeking applicants with outstanding clinical and managerial skills who have a passion for leading, directing and developing a center of excellence.

Glen Cove Hospital, a 235-bed community hospital, which includes a 10 bed Joint Commission accredited Parkinson’s Rehab Unit. Northwell Neurology accomplishments include three hospitals ranked in the top 50 in 2023-2024 U.S. News & World Report. Northwell Neurology has four comprehensive stroke centers, 11 primary stroke center and 1 Thrombectomy capable center. Northwell Neurology is the largest Epilepsy center in the nation, with 24 Epileptologists, three NAEC level centers, and two NAEC level centers.
The Chair of Neurology will provide senior oversight of hospital-based services at Glen Cove Hospital. This leader will work collaboratively with hospital and Health System leaders within the Eastern Region to meet and exceed the Department of Neurology organizational, clinical, quality, operational, and financial goals. Responsibilities include clinician recruitment, education, supervision, strategic development, and process improvement initiatives. The Chair of Neurology role will include inpatient consultative services at Glen Cove Hospital as well as ambulatory practice.
As a leader, you will provide leadership for and work collaboratively with our team of employed faculty physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, stroke coordinators and administrative staff.

Candidate Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications and experience:
Education and Experience
D. or D.O. Degree, or equivalent, from an accredited institution (ACGME or foreign program that is similarly appropriately accredited).
Board Certification in Neurology.
Completion of Neurology residency with board certification
10+ years of leadership experience
Exceptional leadership skills.
Must be licensed as a physician in the State of New York.

The newly appointed regional leader will be expected to achieve the following goals in the first twelve months of his or her tenure:
Earn the trust and confidence of the regional and hospital leaders, administrators at each ambulatory location, physicians and staff throughout Northwell Health.
Ensure high quality patient care through development and standardization of care processes and protocols, educational seminars, metrics, outcome measures and process improvement initiatives.
Actively participate in physician recruitment and the development of growth opportunities.
