As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech you will:
Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
Day to Day duties:
Scrub on all cases.
Primarily, Gen (Open/Laparoscopic/endoscopic), Ortho (Trauma/ Totals/Sports Med), OB/GYN (Open, Laparoscopic and C-Sections), Trauma.
No dedicated service line teams. Associates are cross trained for all services.
Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day?s cases.
Maintaining Sterile field during procedures.
Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon?s needs.
Maintaining and updating preference cards.
3 OR Suites, 1 Endo Room, 1 OB/C-Section suite.
Approx. 75-85+ Cases per month
Schedule: PRN-Variable per surgical volume and current needs of unit-
PRN per policy is 5 shifts within a six week schedule block.
15% PRN Differential applies to Base Pay!!
Call Required: Average 3-5 call shifts. Generally weekend Call Fri- Sun. Per 6 week schedule block
30Min Call back radius required
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Basic Computer skills required.
One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
Experience in a specialty field preferred.
HS Diploma/GED required
Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
BLS from the American Heart Association required
Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required
Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required
Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
